Review on Iranian box office for last weekend: Part 5

Iranian children are fervent cinemagoers during the 36th week of the year.

Iranian children have been the most fervent cinemagoers of the country during the 36th week of the year.

As the summer holidays are dragging to an end in Iran, there has been a meaningful increase in the number of children audience, with Davoud Atyabi’s 'Nargil 2' (Coconut 2) selling 13% more than the previous week.

The musical comedy sold around 35,000 passes and maintained its position as the third popular movie of the week in Iranian box office.

The popularity and dominance of Karim Amini's 'Fossil', however, remains unparalleled selling more than 97,200 tickets. The hilarious comedy has succeeded to remain on the top of the list since its appearance on screen 24 weeks ago.

The closest running movie after this light-hearted movie is Amini’s 'Lawless City', his other comedy this year. It once again secured the second spot on the list, selling more than 75,500 tickets.

Just like the previous period, the fourth position on the list is taken by Seyyed Morteza Fatemi’s social drama ‘Motherless’ during the final week of August.
